In-home fitness coaching is fast becoming the most efficient and comfortable way to get and stay in shape. We all have very busy schedules and finding time to drive to and from the fitness center, try to figure out all of the equipment on your own and get a good workout in a timely manner is difficult.

But a healthy mind & body is part of being well. Your physical status impacts your mood, effectiveness and energy from day to day. From the attitude you have when you walk into the office, your ability to work hard and focus, how you play with your kids to how you perceive yourself and face challenges. Exercise should be a natural part of your life and can help you accomplish little things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking a few extra blocks or having a good time with friends. But it will also help you in pursuing athletic goals that expand your vision of who you are and what you are capable of.

About Mike

As a self-coached athlete and a two-time Ironman finisher, I have the experience to help others reach their highest fitness potential. And as a 43-year-old husband, father and someone who works a full-time job, I also understand how to live a healthy lifestyle while not letting it take over your life.

The reason many of us have had a love and hate relationship with getting fit and working out is because often times we are asked to change the way we live to try and become something we’re not. Which is often a plan for failure. But when you start with a plan that works within your current lifestyle but incorporates simple, yet effective, methods for getting and staying fit, you are more likely to succeed.

It’s not my job to re-invent fitness or develop the next “big thing.” My job is to get you moving by utilizing simple, yet effective exercises to help you reach your goals by:

  • building lean muscle
  • burning fat
  • increasing endurance
  • strengthening your core
  • building a mind & body connection

My goal in all of this is to get you to the point where this becomes your lifestyle. I want to make you self-sufficient. I will gladly work with you for as long as you want, but eventually you need to be able to do this all on your own. You will never be able to succeed in something by constantly following others without having the knowledge for yourself. As the saying goes “A wise man keeps his own counsel.” Through this process we will begin to build your own knowledge base, seek out new information and be able to eventually chart your own course. However, there is no shame in asking for help when you need it.

I will never try to convince you that I know everything. There’s a lot I do know and those things will help you begin your journey to a healthier lifestyle. But that said, I am not a medical doctor, physical therapist or licensed psychologist. There will be times that to completely help you through a situation or problem I will seek the advice of others. I’ll never pretend I know the answer if I don’t, but I guarantee you I will do my best to find it.

Making the decision to start living a healthy lifestyle is a difficult one, especially if currently you’re not. And it’s even harder to stay committed to that decision without the proper guidance and support. But one of the reasons so many people start and eventually stop their journey is because they may be a bit nervous about others knowing they need a little help. This is why going to a gym is not for everyone and why in-home fitness coaching might be the right choice for you. With that said, I want you to know that I understand and share your concern for privacy. Which is why your privacy will be completely respected, and unless you make the decision to tell someone about your personalized fitness program with A Fit You, I too will never share that information. Think of it as your personal coach-client-confidentiality agreement.
